King Crab Adventures

The King Crab is quite possibly the speciality of Arctic Adventure Resort.

After 20 years of regular and frequent diving activities, we have acquired knowledge about this crab that few others can match.

Our goal is to present a more nuanced picture of the situation surrounding the crab than the image created by the media. AAR has supplied film material and facilitated around 30 film productions about the King Crab.

The fact that the King Crab meat is considered to be one of the most savoury meals to be found in the sea has attracted guests from all over the world who whish to catch the delicacy themselves and enjoy it in the freshest possible way.

You can experience the King Crab throughout the year. Here are some suggestions for how to come face to face with the giant:

King Crab Safari

Do you have the courage to face a live King Crab, which can grow to the size of 12 kilos with a two meters span between the toenails? We guarantee you the largest and freshest King Crabs in the world.

Join us by scooter or boat depending on the season and watch our diver catch the giant crab, giving you the chance to experience the giant at close range. Eat the delicacy while watching a unique multimedia lecture by the crab specialist, Arctic Adventure Resort.

On our way to Jarfjord, we will stop briefly by Storskog at the Russian border.

This safari is a unique all-year product offered exclusively by Arctic Adventure Resort, including transportation, warm clothing, crab meal and a multimedia lecture.

King Crab feast

You can order a King Crab Feast from our menu, giving you the opportunity to revel in the controversial delicacy of the ocean, which is priced at up to NOK 500 per kilo in European restaurants.

We will serve you and your friends in our restaurant or outdoors if you prefer during a warm summer evening. The crab is served in a simple fashion with lemon, garlic, white bread and white wine/juice. The simpler is often the better...
